About La Mole Taipei

If you’re the kind of person who gets excited about cozy Italian spots tucked into lively city neighborhoods, let me introduce you to La Mole Taipei, an Italian restaurant that feels both comfortably familiar and refreshingly distinctive. Located at No. 12, Lane 151, Section 2, Jianguo North Road in Zhongshan District, La Mole Taipei sits in a part of the city that’s easy to reach yet pleasantly removed from the rush, which already sets the tone before you even step inside. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, with that warm Italian vibe that encourages you to slow down, talk more, and enjoy your food instead of rushing through it. La Mole Taipei is the kind of place where you can casually drop in for a laid-back lunch, plan a lingering dinner with friends, or even just stop by for a drink and a few small plates. Speaking of options, the service flexibility here is a big plus, since you can choose outdoor seating on nice days, dine in for the full experience, grab takeaway when you’re short on time, or even opt for delivery if staying in feels more appealing. The drink selection adds another layer to the experience, featuring alcohol, beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and coffee, which makes the restaurant suitable for everything from afternoon catch-ups to evening hangouts. What really stands out to me is how La Mole Taipei balances an easygoing, conversational atmosphere with a menu and service style that still feels thoughtful and well put together. It doesn’t try too hard to impress, yet it naturally leaves a strong impression, especially if you appreciate Italian dining that feels approachable rather than overly formal. For anyone exploring Italian restaurants in Taipei and looking for a place that blends comfort, flexibility, and a relaxed social vibe, La Mole Taipei fits right into that sweet spot.

I visited La Mole years ago and on my first trip back to Taipei after a long time I came back and happily found out this restaurant is still serving authentic Italian food.I had starters, homemade pasta and dessert pair with wines. Dishes were well made and presented. Wine selection was suggested properly and the service was very attentive and friendly, I loved their care and smiles. I like this place and as an Italian away from home for business very often I like to keep this restaurant in Taipei as my place to feel a bit closer to Italy. Well done indeed!

This is the absolute hidden gem of Taipei. I love Italian food so I always want to explore what it's like in every country I visit. This one is by far the best one I know now. Apart from great food and drinks, the service is also great. Every staff member is helpful and kind and the menu and day specials are all fantastic. It is nicely decorated and for me the location was also convenient. I can really recommend this place, I love it and I will be back soon. Ciao!

By pure chance, I stumbled upon this restaurant that got some good reviews from Italians. It was indeed excellent according to my European heart. The dishes were copious, unpretentious, generous and well balanced. It’s the type of restaurant that isn’t trying too hard in both its presentation and service. (We went there on September 13 at 20:15, two persons) I usually dont write about it but the service was impeccable. Unlike some high end restaurants where the service is overbearing, constantly next to you, or overexplaining everything, our waiter and his colleagues were both present and discreet. Only there when we needed them or when they saw that we were finished. Just the perfect balance where you can appreciate they notice you without being noticed if that makes sense. Also, no bullshit talk, just polite and honest, which is highly appreciated. The food was amazing and authentic, the lamb was really copious, the Piedmont Tomini cheese was to die for, gnocchi were fluffy. Let’s not forget the menu du jour with many other dishes not in the general menu, from which we took the fresh figs and prosciutto. Excellent and unpretentious, like it was made at an Italian home but with high end ingredient and care. Seriously you can just go there and enjoy it and relax without needing to be uptight for the occasion. Highly recommended.

A local Italian YT recommended this authentic Italian restaurant. The waiters are knowledgeable of the daily specials and the menu. The Italian wine recommended was adequate for what we wanted. Attentive and quick service. The dishes are flavourful and small on the portion as this is not a family style Italian restaurant. Risotto was full of flavour and gnocchi was heavenly light with a heavy white sauce. Desserts are tasty and proper.

The dining experience at the Italian restaurant was exceptional. The roast beef appetizer, paired with sweet and sour red onions and Ricola salad, was a delightful combination of flavors. The handmade gnocchi alla bava was airy and delicious, accompanied by a creamy, aromatic sauce that was perfectly rounded off with walnuts. The special order of rigatoni with four cheese sauce won my mother over completely, leaving her very happy. The pan-seared duck breast, seasoned with pink pepper and served with potato puree, was incredibly tender. However, my father felt that a larger portion of potato puree would have been preferable to feel fully satisfied, and warmth in serving would be appreciated next time. The view into the kitchen added to the vibrant yet pleasant atmosphere. The standout element was the friendly waiter who passionately described the dishes, making it enjoyable to listen to him. It felt as if the waiter was there exclusively for us. The chefs aspire to make any special wishes come true! Overall, a delightful culinary experience with great ambiance and attentive service.

La Mole came highly recommended by an Italian coworker, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The pasta was outstanding, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
